Moonalisa Blood Orange Chocolate Massage Toad

I don't have a picture of this since I started using it before I reviewed. The pretty toad is not so pretty anymore. It came in a little tin wrapped in gold foil on a little bed of grated paper. I also don't have any ingredient list but it's made of various solid oils that melt on body contact but otherwise don't melt all over the   place. This would be great to take on a trip where I don't want liquids spilling. I've had luggage come back smelling like baby powder & roses, and not in a pleasant way.

This on the other hand smells like the Moonalisa blood orange & chocolate scents I love mixed together. So obviously I love this too. These 2 Moonalisa orders have been full of wins for me. However, my dad wants to know why the room smells like carnival food?

Moonalisa Chocolate Strudel 4-in-1

Moonalisa's Chocolate Strudel 4-in-1 is also a mini 4oz size I received in the Chocolate Lovers Easter Basket.

Official scent description is Delicious Chocolate & coconut with a hint of flaky buttery pastry.

I've been using the 4-in-1s as shampoo (read my earlier Dr. Bombay review) and I'm still surprised how well it lathers since etailers are notoriously less bubbly than retailer products. I didn't get any coconut from this but tons of chocolate and pastry. I hate chocolate scents in other etailers but Moonalisa chocolate is so real and actually good. This smells pretty delicious.

Usually $11 for 8oz.
Unfortunately, the ingredient list is very tiny and hard to read. I can't find an ingredient list on the website.

Verdict: I'll buy this scent again in any product!

Impressions:

I'll do full reviews of these items but I thought I'd just write down my impressions since I didn't have time to work on any reviews today. Sorted by company, these are my current Spring lotions (I use some of my leftover Valentines at night but won't review those since they aren't available anymore)

Moonalisa:
~ Potion Lotion in Lavender & Herbs de Provence- love this at night, I prefer thicker body cremes but it moisturizes well, a more herbal lavender to my nose (maybe a hint of sage?)

~ Potion Lotion in Chocolate Almond Cake- Def chocolate cake, not sure about the almond part, might be in the drydown, Moonalisa's are the only chocolate note I like (I hate BPAL's)

~ Potion Lotion in  Lemon Sugar Cookie- absolutely delicious, need more quickly, more cookie than anything else

~ Chocolate Blood Orange Toad Massage Bar- the toad shape is so cute, the massage bar melts easily on contact, came in a tin wrapped in gold foil, scent is equal parts blood orange & chocolate, would reorder

~ Lavender & Amber Winter Rich Cream- lavender & baby powder!, very soft unlike the lavender & herbs lotion

~ Frangelico & Strawberry Jam Biscuits Winter Rich Cream- def get the strawberry jam biscuits, not sure about frangelico, def didn't feel like I got any almond, not my favorite scent

~ Amber Rose Winter Rich Cream- very light rose & baby powder (Moonalisa's amber note obviously turns to baby powder on me)- good for a light clean scent that disappears quickly, sometimes I need that when around people who don't like strong scents

~ Salome's Secret Winter Rich Cream- vanilla & amber scent, didn't like it at first but either it grew on me or it needed curing time, slightly sweet baby powder, another clean disappearing scent

~ Caramel Cocoa Winter Rich Cream- sweet chocolate! very delicious but I wished it lasted longer

Blooddrop:
~ Lady Slipper Flutter- flutter is a whipped body cream that melts very quickly on skin & leaves a slightly greasy film, I love it for night- Lady Slipper is the most perfect un-old-lady rose ever, very fresh & bright but grown-up

~ Peony & White Musk Flutter- very clean! the white musk is almost a bright linen or cotton note with the peony adding a very soft floral background, very slight floral, kinda smells like clean laundry

~ Lavender Honey Flutter- mmmm... delicious, soft sweet lavender, so perfect for bedtime (Blooddrop also sometimes has Tea & Honey Flutter between seasonal blends (it's white tea, blood orange & honey & is amazing, I used a whole tube very quickly!)

Haunt:
~ Courtesan Body Creme- have to do a fuller review, I honestly couldn't tell you what this smells like

The Garden Bath & The Bathing Garden Etsy Stores Update 4/16

I haven't tried The Garden Bath yet but I really want to. They just released a Spring update today.

*~ Clementine Lavender- A positively delightful spring concoction that will charm floral and citrus lovers alike, this fragrance is the perfect blend of juicy sweet orange, bergamot, and other citrus scents with soothing lavender (NEW)

~ Fresh Grass- What better to represent the spring season than the crisp scent of freshly cut grass?  This clean, slightly sweet, and refreshing fragrance will remind you of walking barefoot in a lush sea of emerald green grass. (NEW)

*~ Garden Greens- Combining the best of the garden, this green and herbal fragrance is zingy and fresh, with notes of peppermint, eucalyptus, thyme, and hints of ginger, along with a base of amber and musk.

*~ Honey Blossom- This is not the sickly sweet honey you may have smelled before - instead, it's like raw honey: honey nectar with a floral touch of honeysuckle and jasmine, with a little bit of creamy vanilla - soft and perfect!

~ Spring Flowers- This romantic bouquet of spring flowers, that includes lilies, orchids, roses and other delightful flowers, will surely please floral lovers. This soft, fresh fragrance is a perfect herald for spring and is exquisitely feminine. (NEW)

~ Tranquil Mist- Like a breath of tranquility, this refreshing fragrance is a relaxing blend of cucumber, mint, and watery, salty kelp and cool, crisp fresh air. The combination is clean, soothing and perfect for spring! (NEW)

Also, The Bathing Garden which sells wax melts has also reopened following an absence. I don't buy wax tarts at the moment but these are so pretty, sound so good, and have gotten great reviews online that I'm awfully tempted. These are official descriptions.

BPAL Miss Spink

Official Description- BPAL
A grand, over-the-top tuberose gardenia

Both Miss Spink and Miss Forcible scents have a bit of tea splash and biscuit crumbs.

BPAL Coraline Jones

Official Description- BPAL
“What should I do?” asked Coraline.

“Read a book,” said her mother. “Watch a video. Play with your toys. Go and pester Miss Spink or Miss Forcible, or the crazy old man upstairs.”

“No,” said Coraline. “I don't want to do those things. I want to explore.”
Dry grass, clean skin, and a little bit of mossy berry.

Miss Spink and Miss Forcible lived in the flat below Coraline's, on the ground floor. They were both old and round, and they lived in their flat with a number of ageing Highland terriers who had names like Hamish and Andrew and Jock. Once upon a time Miss Spink and Miss Forcible had been actresses, as Miss Spink told Coraline the first time she met her.

“You see, Caroline,” Miss Spink said, getting Coraline's name wrong, “both myself and Miss Forcible were famous actresses, in our time. We trod the boards, luvvy. Oh, don't let Hamish eat the fruitcake, or he'll be up all night with his tummy.”

“It's Coraline. Not Caroline, Coraline,” said Coraline.

Possets Spring Update 4/12

Possets released a Sacred Geometry update today!

Solstice Scents Chiffon

Chiffon: Official Description:
Vanilla, White Amber, White Musk & Lemon Myrtle EO

Moonalisa Dr. Bombay 4-in-1 Gel

Dr. Bombay 4-in-1 is a multi-purpose bath product. It can be used as shower gel, shampoo, bubble bath or as a delicate fabric wash. I personally use it as shampoo.

Haunt Doe Sugar Polish

Haunt Doe Sugar Polish is my second sugar polish from this company. I used the Turkish Cocoa in winter and fell in love with the formula. It's a softer scrub, not as soft as Haus of Gloi's Bubbling Scrub but not as hard as Lathers n Lights or Moonalisa's. I would say Bath & Body Works scrubs are also a coarser sugar.

Solstice Scents- Blossom Jam Tea Cakes

Solstice Scent's spring collection is my first order from this company. I've heard great things and hopefully it lives up to my expectations.

BPAL Ambergris

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is doing a Limited Edition single note collection. Every month there is a new note that comes and goes with the lunacy. They've had Madagascar Vanilla Rum, French Tobacco (to die for), Hungarian Paprika, Rum-Soaked French Tonka, Spanish Red Carnation, Haitian Vetiver and a few others so far.

This month is Ambergris.

BPAL- Peony Moon and Coraline Update

I ordered several decants from a decanter:

Solstice Scents- Spring Scents

I just got my package of samples from Solstice Scents. I ordered the sampler pack on the 5th (Friday) and received it Wednesday so pretty impressive. It was $19.50 for 8 scents.

I did preliminary sniffs right out of the mailbox without reading the notes.

Moonalisa Grapefruit Haven Bubbling Bath Brew

Moonalisa is an e-tailer with a couple very large releases per year (usually a Halloween, Winter, Valentine, Easter and maybe a Summer). She has a devoted following but her sales sellout extremely fast (like within the hour fast) and her TAT (turn-around-time) is very long (usually around 2 months). Her products are very much worth it to me and a lot of others.

Intro

I have too much perfume... and bath additives... and soap... and lotions, etc. I've decided to do what dozens of other girls do: photograph, review and catalogue them all.

My favorite scent notes:
~ Caramel
~ Honey
~ Red Musk
~ Cream (or creamy scents)
~ Tobacco (mainly tobacco flower)
~ Madagascar/Tahitian vanillas (I like all vanillas usually though, mostly non-foody)
~ Jasmine
~ Violets
~ Blood Orange
~ Other Musks (except white or blue)
~ Non-foody Coconut
~ Dark or Black notes (example, black musk, black coconut, dark vanilla)
~ Toasted or Smoky notes (sometimes, woodsmoke can be very bad...)

My favorite e-tailers:
~ Arcana
~ Blooddrop
~ BPAL/BPTP
~ CocoaPink
~ Conjure Oils
~ Haunt
~ Lathers n Lights
~ Nocturne Alchemy
~ Possets
~ Solstice Scents
~ Violette Market
